Today, we are pleased to launch our first chapter: Sans Studio. Sans Studio is a boutique human experience and innovation design studio. The studio researches, designs and prototypes emerging consumer technology products and interfaces for startups and SMBs. Based in London, we serve clients globally. Our mission is to turn advanced concepts into wonderful product experiences.

We are at the start of a new era of consumer technology; XR headsets, gen-AI interfaces and smart home devices are moving from concept to real products faster than ever. In a rush to be first, a common approach has been to focus on “what’s possible” without asking how people will actually use these tools. That approach yields novelty rather than solutions that truly enhance human experience. Yet historically, successful consumer tech companies made design a priority: building for real user journeys, focusing on UX and delivering intuitive and helpful interfaces. Today’s emerging technologies need that same level of practical, human-centered thinking if they are going to deliver genuine value instead of a one-off gimmick.

At the same time, traditional design agencies aren’t set up to meet the demands of highly innovative, ambiguous products. Many teams excel in either UI or industrial design, but few combine true multidisciplinary integration with hands-on technical expertise in emerging technologies. They might create visually elegant app interfaces, or prototype a hardware casing, but they struggle to deliver cohesive end-to-end solutions that blend software, hardware and user needs. As a result, companies often end up with disjointed handoffs, longer development cycles, unclear priorities around functionality and designs that don’t match the technical capabilities of the underlying system. For startups, where working with speed and clarity is essential, this issue translates into higher costs, slower time-to-market and lost runway when prototypes fail to gain traction.

3. Initiate. Sign our service contract and make the initial payment to get started.

4. Kickoff. We start with an onboarding call, questionnaire and share relevant work.
